Vizsla

Twin Cities Vizsla Club
651-688-7462

Email: tcvc@yahoo.com

Web Site: www.tcvc.org

The Vizsla is an energetic, active, busy dog that needs daily exercise and does best if it has a job- hunting, obedience, agility etc. Generally they are good family pets that love to go and are very versatile. They are intended to be an indoor dog and live with the family as a family member. Frequently found lying on chairs and sofa’s. Your bed is there bed. They are also very sensitive dogs and do not do well with harsh corrections. They are Velcro dogs, they follow you all over the home- what are you doing? Can I help? No I don’t want to go out and play or run alone; I will go when you go. The rescue program is a group of volunteers who try to place the right dog with the right person. That is why we ask people to fill out an adoption form for us to follow. If you want to hunt with a dog, we do not place a gun shy dog with you. Many of the dogs have just been placed in homes that are a poor match, and others experience life style changes such as divorce, moving, family comes along and are unable to keep their dogs any longer. We do try to place dogs directly out of their current home rather than take them into foster care so they can adjust to another home. We do foster dogs that we get out of the humane society or are abandoned or owner is dying and can no longer care for the dog. Frequently rescue dogs come with issues that need some work, or else the owner would not have given them up.
