Carver Scott Humane Society 952-368-3553 Email: animals@carverscotths.org Web Site: www.carverscotths.org |
Carver-Scott Humane Society (CSHS) considers itself a "low-kill" organization. CSHS does not euthanize based on the supply and demand of pet overpopulation. Rather, CSHS works with participating vets and only euthanizes animals deemed unadoptable due to severe health issues or unremediable behavior problems, such as aggression and biting. CSHS provides medical help to all injured or sick animals who are expected to fully recover and be adoptable. Due to the fact that our Dog and Cat Coordinators keep the capacity of foster homes to a manageable level and euthanasia rates are low, CSHS is not able to have an open door policy. Therefore, strays, homeless and hardship cases receive priority before personal surrenders. CSHS receives 100% of our funding through programming and donations; we do not receive government funding. Our major fundraiser has been our annual Walk. CSHS fostered animals are promoted at monthly Pet Adoption Days. |

Home for Life 800-252-5918 Email: info@homeforlife.org Web Site: www.homeforlife.org |
Home For Life® is an expression of a new kind of animal shelter—the long-term animal sanctuary. We provide animals with loving care, a nurturing environment that is safe and stable, a place to belong… a home for life. We provide lifetime care for cats and dogs with special needs who cannot find a home, but who can still lead a quality life. At Home for Life®, our animals are not offered for adoption. Once an animal comes to us, it truly has a home for life. Through our example, we hope to discourage an acceptance of euthanasia for animals who can still live a quality life. Just as apathy can become a way of life, so can empathy. |

Homeward Bound of Minnesota Web Site: www.homewardboundrescue.com |
Homeward Bound is a private, nonprofit organization concerned with the welfare of dogs and other animals. We are dedicated to the sheltering and fostering of homeless and unwanted animals. In addition, we take pride in the fact that we are a no-kill rescue and placement program that does not euthanize our animals if they are not adopted within a certain length of time. Homeward Bound has been in existence since 1991 and has rescued well over 10,000 dogs, cats, and other animals. Homeward Bound promotes responsible adoption and care of companion animals. We seek out good, permanent homes for our loving and deserving animals. All are in good health and temperament. Homeward Bound does not have a central location because we are foster-based. Fostering our animals enables us to observe the personality and needs of each individual animal and thus allows us to aid in the selection of a pet that fits the personality, needs, and lifestyle of a family/person. |

Pine County Guardian Angel Shelter 320-629-3508 Email: tlcsynergy@yahoo.com Web Site: www.petfinder.org/shelters/MN83.html |
Pine County Guardian Angel Shelter is a licensed & inspected Minnesota Non-profit, No-Kill canine rescue facility (MN Board of Animal Health License #41013). Our mission is best summarized in the Shelter name: we recognize that every dog comes into this life to be a guardian angel for someone or some family - it's our purpose to help them find the correct home. All placements, therefore, are made with an underlying preference for what we perceive would be in the best interest of each dog. Guardian Angel focuses its efforts on Rescue, Rehabilitation and Community Outreach/Education - especially in the vital area of emphasizing the importance of spay/neuter for companion animal population control, & improving the quality of life for our pets. Because of our large available space (big pens), our staff's expertise, & the limited resources of many communities' impounds & shelters, we particularly direct our energies to the rescue, rehabilitation (when needed) & placement of several Giant breeds & Hounds (specifically: Great Pyrenees, Greyhounds, Anatolian Shepherd, Irish Wolfhound, Scottish Deerhound, Afghan Hound, Bloodhound, & Alaskan Malamute), & most Herding breeds (specifically: German Shepherd; Collies, (rough, smooth or bearded); Blue or Red Heelers; Australian Shepherds; Welsh Corgis (Cardigan or Pembroke); Shetland Sheepdogs; & Old English Sheepdogs). We also hold a particular reverence & love for Lhasas (Lhasa Apso - either purebreds or mixes.) |

St. Francis Animal Rescue 612-387-4869 Email: stfrancisaar@gmail.com Web Site: www.stfrananimal.org |
The foundation of St. Francis of Assisi Animal Rescue is to rescue and rehabilitate unwanted dogs and cats throughout the community. We work to relieve the pet over population problem by spaying and neutering all companion animals before adoption. We also work to help educate the public on animal welfare and focus on positive people / animal relationships. St. Francis Animal Rescue grew from a desire to go beyond what a traditional shelter could offer. Our organization began by rescuing what most did not want - animals that were deemed as "unadoptable". We have been very successful in placing senior animals and special needs animals in appropriate, loving homes. St. Francis Animal Rescue is unique in another way because we choose to have elective surgeries done on animals to save, or to improve the quality, of the animal's life. These animals otherwise might be euthanized, due to the expense of the surgery. We continue to reach out to educate the public and build support for our programs and act as a positive influence for animal welfare in our community. Our Foster Home Care program has enabled us to grow and evaluate and rehabilitate animals in a home environment that have not succeeded in the traditional shelter setting. |
|
Top Dog Foundation 952-353-2122 Web Site: www.topdogfoundation.org |
Mission: To provide a loving and permanent home for dogs that are deemed “un-adoptable” because of age and health, and would otherwise be unnecessarily euthanized. Vision: That every dog will have a permanent home, shelter from the cold, and plenty of food. That those dogs "tossed out", abandoned, or labeled "un-adoptable" and scheduled for expiration because of age, and treatable health issues, will have the love and respect they deserve and the right to live until they die of natural causes, or until their health issues become such that they no longer have quality of life . . . that their transition from this life will be in the arms of someone who loves them. |
